Luca Barbarossa

Engineer, Ph.D. in Town and Regional planning, from the Ph.D. program of the University of Catania, Faculty of Architecture, actually worked as a researcher.

Adjunct Professor, of Regional Planning at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Catania (2005 – 2011). and of Urban Planning at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Catania (2009 – 2010).

Tutor of Ph.D. programs in Regional Planning and Management and Urban and Regional Regeneration at the University of Catania (2007 – 2011) and of
Urban and Regional Planning summer school of the Department of Urban Planning, University of Calabria Italy (2006- 2009).

In 2010 and 2012 he taught at the summer school “Taller International de Paisaje: Ciudad y Paisaje” Escuela Tecnica Superior di Arquitectura,Malaga, Spain.

His main fields of interests are city and regional planning, management issues related to land use, urban sustainability and the interaction between land use and transports. He is currently involved in urban design and city planning, using a holistic approach that is particularly committed to environmental issues (smart growth principles, greenways etc.).

Since 1995 he worked as a consultant planner on urban and regional planning studies (mainly master plans, and detail plans of historical centers).
