Norliza Hashim is the Secretary General of the Eastern Organisation of Planning and Human Settlement, an International Multi-Sectoral Organisation that promotes sustainability of human settlement.
She was also the President of the Malaysian Institute of Planners for 6 years and is a registered town planner with more than 25 years of planning experience.
Norliza manages her own firm – AJM Planning and Urban Design Group Sdn Bhd for the past 18 years and her experience covers a wide spectrum of the planning discipline both locally and globally and she now serves as a consultant to UN-Habitat in its Human Settlement Programmes.
She actively participates in community based programmes and sits in Local Agenda 21 committee for Petaling Jaya and Putrajaya.
She also sits on various technical working groups that focus on issues relating to sustainability planning and development.
She also sits on various advisory panels that include NAPSEC and Institute of Higher Learning for their urban planning programmes.
Norliza is also a prolific speaker and has presented at various local and international conferences on the many areas of urban planning and sustainability.
