Urban Design is an approach that provides a city with a shape, form, and character. It is a study of parts of the city that constitute a group of buildings or an integrated Urban Fabric and Focuses on Physical Material Elements such as blocks and the spaces around them and their relationships with each of the second and third dimensions.

     It deals with city or sector zoning as an Abstract and Urban Designer takes the design rights of ownership or employer and acting within a certain area. Urban planning, similarly, is concerned with the layout of neighborhoods, cities and regions as to fulfil the needs of a community and economy.

     Meanwhile, architecture or architectural design is defined as the art, process and product of designing and constructing buildings/structures. It is concerned with function, form, and firmness and encompasses the design organization of urban space and infrastructure.

     Giving more than an introduction to students, the summer school on Architectural Design and Urban Planning uses prompts from theorists, practitioners in contemporary architecture and urban design. The two-week course will deal with advanced techniques and technologies used in urban designing. It is important to be mentioned that the course will go through a real case study on:

“Designing infrastructure: a key turn in the Urban Landscape, case study the Tor Vergata Rome, Italy”.

Undergraduates, post-graduates and interested participants are all invited to attend this course from 18 - 29 of July 2018 in Rome, Italy.

- Urban design theories with emphasis on critical, conceptual, and design thinking in the process of designing and shaping cities.

- Urban design is an inter-disciplinary subject that utilizes elements of many built environment professions/, including landscape architecture.

- Squares: the open spaces and public spaces and squares of Assembly.

- Borders and boundaries: the linear elements not using population as courses but everyone and be in physical borders like walls and green areas and bridges.

- Strategic design in urban areas.

- Urban design is about making connections between people and places

- City infrastructure and Renewable Energy distribution.

Refund Policy:

- Visa Rejection cases are to receive an 80% refund of the total amount (proof of rejection must be submitted).

- Cancellation is only allowed 45 days before the event start date with only a 50% refund of the total amount.

- Please notice that we will endeavor to assist you in obtaining a visa (if needed), by sending an invitation letter, but the responsibility is yours and the decision rests solely with the appropriate Embassy. 

- In case you could not attend the program for visa rejection will get a refund minus 20% administration charges, and the bank commissions, to be refunded after the program end date.

- In case you could not attend the program for any other special circumstances will get a refund minus 50% administration charges, and the bank commissions, to be refunded after the program end date, considering that cancellation is made 45 days before event start date.

- If the visa has already been accepted, the fees cannot be refunded.
