Imagine that you are in your car doing everything except driving. You just enter your car type the location you want to go to, then let your vehicle drive to your destination. This is not a science fiction film, it is a Google self-driving car that will change the life of many commuters.
How will it change the world?
Self-driving cars will drive the world to radical change. The number of car buyers will increase, which is a good thing to auto manufacturers, as you do not have to be a good driver to buy a car, or be at a certain age to have a driver license. Google referred at this when published a video in which blind man, Steve Mahan, took a self-driving car for a test drive.
The number of driving instructions will be decreased, the same thing will happen with demand for service in insurance companies as most of the car accidents are the result of human error. The law, of course, will have to go up with this new shift. Lawmakers to put the requirement for being an operator of self-driving cars, what rules will be put to that car, and who will be responsible for anything goes wrong on the road.
How does it work?
It works through 3 things; precise localization, obstacle detection, path planning. The obstacle detection unit has Radar, cameras, and a laser. This equipment helps car computer to have the awareness of external circumstances. The sensors sense what is going on outside and what is happening inside the car, and send this information to car computer. The car computer checks its data and makes a driving strategy in real time.
Google will pay $20 per hour to persons to test its new car
Google now is looking for” vehicle safety specialist” to test self-driving car. “Test drivers play an important role in developing our self-driving technology,” Brian Torcellini, head of operations for Google’s Self-Driving Car testing program said. “They give our engineers feedback about how our cars are driving and interacting with others on the road, and can take control of the vehicle if needed.”
